This fall, the Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach proudly welcomes New Executive Chef, Vincent Lesage.
Vincent Lesage joins us with over 10 years of experience in the culinary field, specifically with prestigious hotels and restaurants in the US and in France. His passion stems from the influence of his grandmother and cooking with her. Vincent was born and raised in Paris, and from a young age, he has been inspired by the arts shown to him by his mother. Paris is the perfect city to foster the passion for art, which shows through in Vincent's food.
Earlier in his career, Vincent worked for some of the best restaurants in France, amongst them being Restaurant Bras and Restaurant Astrance, both three-star Michelin restaurants. Most recently, Vincent took his culinary expertise to the next level as the Executive Sous Chef at a highly regarded beach resort, where he was responsible for running the day-to-day culinary operations and had a tremendous reputation for high-quality food and service.
The Balboa Bay Resort is delighted to have Vincent Lesage on board, and we’re certain that he will build upon the reputation that our Newport Beach resort currently enjoys.
We are very excited and proud to announce that our new waterfront restaurant – 1221 PRIME, will officially open its doors on Wednesday, November 27th. What is currently the location of the fine dining First Cabin Restaurant will become the home of a new sophisticated, contemporary steakhouse and upscale wine bar – 1221 PRIME.
Along with the panoramic waterfront views of the Balboa Bay, the new 1221 PRIME will have a fresh, bright and tranquil ambience, very unique and modern for a steak and seafood house. Soft seaside pastel and deep ocean blue color palate will fill the room and combine perfectly with the modern coastal décor, light beechwood floors and booths, and enlarged windows and French doors that welcome in sunlight and bay breezes.
Lead by Executive Chef Vincent Lesage and a decorated culinary team, 1221 PRIME will offer a seasonally-inspired menu focused on dry-aged USDA PRIME steaks, the freshest seafood available and California-coastal farm-to-table cuisine, in addition to a handful of BBR classic and signature items we would not dare leave off the menu. 1221 PRIME is certain to offer the most refreshing cuisine in Orange County and be open for breakfast, lunch or dinner daily.
